Royal Recognition!

We are thrilled to announce that we have received Royal recognition.  Presented annually to organisations who are seen to be making a very real difference to the communities they serve, the award will be given out to a total of 34 different groups by HRH The Duke of York at a ceremony to be held in the New Year.  Following their visit to Ilkley and District Good Neighbours, assessors from the Duke of York’s Community Initiative described the group as: “a quintessential community support organisation”.

Judy Hutton, Chairman,  comments:  “I know that I speak for my fellow Trustees in saying that we are immensely proud of all our wonderful volunteers, without whom none of our work would be possible.  The addition of this Royal accolade will, I hope, spur everyone on to continue to support elderly people to maintain their independence."

 great get together

On Sunday 18 June 2017 we helped out at the Ilkley Great Get Together in memory of Jo Cox MP.   The sense of community spirit which prevailed during the whole day was amazing and the event was a true example of a community coming together.  The money raised by the raffle and donations amounts to £2,000 and we are delighted to have been chosen to receive £1,500, the balance being donated to the Red Cross Grenfell fund.
